Martin was a NCAA DI head coach at Youngstown State University, NCAA DII head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), NCAA DI recruiting coordinator at West Virginia University (formerly in the Big East Conference) and spent two seasons as an assistant Junior College coach in Florida. She spent one season as a high school coach at PK Yonge High School in Gainesville, FL when she finished playing basketball at Florida. While at IUP, Martin was named the Russell Athletic / WBCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2008 and the PSAC West Conference Coach of the Year in 2007. Her teams had an overall record of 70-23, won back to back PSAC Conference Championships in 2007 & 2008, had back to back 24 plus winning seasons where the team advanced to the NCAA tournament and made it all the way to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2007.
Prior to IUP, Martin spent four seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at WVU where she helped guide the team to the WNIT Post-Season Championship Game in 2005, the NCAA Tournament in 2004, had back to back 20 plus winning seasons and three back to back Nationally Ranked Top 25 Recruiting Classes by All-Star Girls Report. Their 2002 recruiting class ranked #4 nationally as they landed Yelena Leuchanka and Meg Bulger. Martin has coached numerous players that went on to play professionally both in the WNBA and overseas.
In addition to her 11 years of college coaching, Coach Martin spent one year as a high school coach in Florida has 6 years of experience teaching the basic basketball fundamentals to boys & girls of all skill levels in high school, middle school and elementary school. She created and directed the A-Game Basketball Academy at A-Game Sportsplex in 2010 in Franklin, TN and is the owner/director of CMBS. She teaches core basketball fundamentals that will enhance your level of play from the elite to beginning player. Martin was a high percentage 3-point and free-throw shooter and works with each student to improve their shooting form, ballhandling and 1-on-1 moves. She specializes in private shooting lessons where she can tweak anyone’s shot to make it more consistent in a short amount of time. Martin takes a special interest in her students and has a real passion for the game. Coach Martin has partnered with Elevate Basketball Academy and is focused on growing the new girls basketball program along with teaching skill work to our boys & girls of all skill levels.
Martin was a high percentage 3-Point and free-throw shooter and works with each student to improve their shooting form. She teaches core basketball fundamentals that will enhance your level of play from the elite to beginning player. Coach Martin takes a special interest in her students and has a real passion for the game! She now resides in Columbus, Ohio and is the owner/director of CMBS.
